At the time the Videoblogging Group began in 2004, there was no video movement on the web. While the written word, still image and audio had been democratized by the internet, the moving image was too expensive and poor in quality to be utilized by individuals online. That would soon change.
Herein lay an important source of documentation for the first and most influential online video forum on the web. The group was created on June 1, 2004 by Jay Deadman and Peter Van Dijck.
In 2019, Yahoo announced plans to delete the forum and so a copy of the archive is preserved here.
