If you're in Norcal, there's a LobbyCon (the first one!) in San Francisco 8/12 at 7:30pm.

The idea is a real-time work/social/cheap conference in lobbies of various hotels. I've also

Point being, the 'topic' is audio/video/p2p broadcasting/publishing, etc. (As opposed to
RSS, or Blogging, etc)
