You can do this now, but the trick is not to use the 'comments' feature on
weblogs, but to use the trackbacks and pingback feature. These are a whole
lot more interesting than comment fields anyway. :o)

Trackbacks and pingbacks is a simple message of letting someone know that
you have posted on your weblog with a reference to someone else's post.

For example when Rob posted his first sign language post I thought it was
interesting so I created a post about it on my own weblog. When I posted
my own blog I also sent a message to Rob's server saying 'hey, I'm talking
about you'. Rob's server then put up a link to my entry along with an
excerpt. You can see it by going to Rob's entry at
<http://www.robwilks.com/blog/archive/000081.html> and clicking the link
named 'Trackbacks'.

If I had decided to make a video as my own blog entry you would
effectively have made a vcomment. That's the way to do it. It's simple and
it works for any media – most weblog systems should actually send
trackbacks automatically these days.
