it offers double pass compression. for those that don't know. the
compression algorithm looks at the entire video clip on the first pass,
working out where the best place for keyframes and the like it. then on
the second pass it adds the key frames. So is a very good 2 pass
variable bit rate codec, that is MPEG 4 compliant.

i lost track of this a couple of years ago but last time I looked I
thik the second one was a sort of mpeg4 hack which was a hack from
Windows Media Player. I prefer the first one as it is all about MPEG4.
The latter isn't.
